The laboratory consists of the following devices:
- Zolertia Z1 (100 pieces). Z1 are low-power wireless modules equipped with a packet-based CC2420 radio chip operating at 2.54 GHz compatible with IEEE 802.15.4 and 6LowPAN and a 16-bit ucontroller of TI MSP430 series. They support open source operating systems, such as TinyOS and Contiki. Lakeside Labs has been using Z1 for several years in research on wireless relay communications and synchronization.
- DecaWave DW1000. DW1000 is a single chip ultra wide band (UWB) transceiver based on IEEE802.15.4-2011 with a data rate of more than 5 Mbit/s. Lakeside Labs uses this module for the development of novel wireless sensor networks for industrial applications.
